Prof. Dr. Ekkehart Reimer
Professor Dr. Ekkehart Reimer serves as full-time Professor of Law and Director of the Institute of Financial Law and Tax Law at Heidelberg University. Born in 1969, he studied law and philosophy at Heidelberg and Munich. After his first and second State Exams in Law, he joined the Research Center for European and International Tax Law of the University of Munich (1997-2005). His doctoral tutor was Klaus Vogel, Professor emeritus at Munich (1930-2007) while the Habilitation (2005) was supervised and supported by Moris Lehner, Professor at Munich and head of its Research Center since 1998. From 2009 to 2013, Ekkehart Reimer served as a part-time judge at the High Administrative Court (Verwaltungsgerichtshof) of Baden-Württemberg. Jointly with Dr. Simon Kempny (Cologne University), he has recently delivered the 2014 Public Law Expertise for the 70th German Lawyers' Assembly (Deutscher Juristentag) on the reform of fiscal federalism and equalization in Germany (www.djt.de).
