Marc Weber is a partner at LANTER ATTORNEYS-AT-LAW in Zurich. He studied at the Universities of Zurich, Berkeley and Stanford.
He was a sub-member of the independent commission of experts „Switzerland – Second World War“ („Bergier Commission“) and assisted in a legal expertise on „The trade with looted art during 1933 and 1950“. His dissertation (2001, summa cum laude, University of Zurich) is considered as an important contribution for the development of private art law as an individual discipline of law.
In 2003, he was admitted to the bar. As an expert in art law, he is counselling dealers, collectors, museums, auctions houses, insurances and banks. He also is involved in cases on restitution of Nazi looted art.
He has been a lecturer for private law at the University of Lucerne, and, since 2011, he has been teaching art law in the Executive Master Program „Art Market Studies“ at the University of Zurich.
He speaks German, English, French and Italian.
Marc Weber has published more than 30 articles on art law, private international law and civil procedure law.
