Dr. Dirk Otto
Dirk Otto is a corporate finance lawyer and civil-law notary based in Frankfurt and a partner with Gobbers & Denk since July 2013. From 2001 until June 2013 he was a partner with Norton Rose and before, he was junior partner at another major international law firm.
Dirk graduated from University of Heidelberg in 1991. Afterwards he obtained an LLM from University of London. He was awarded a doctorate in law from University of Heidelberg in 1996 with a doctoral thesis on Indian law. He was admitted to the Frankfurt Bar as an attorney in 1995. In 2011 he also became civil law notary and member of the Frankfurt Notary Chamber. Dirk is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators in London, of the African Law Association and the Association of Arabic and Islamic law.
Dirk regularly advises major private equity houses and industrial clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial transactions and arbitration disputes and regularly represents clients in domestic and international arbitration proceedings.
Dirk is co-editor and co-author of Kronke/Nacimiento/Otto/Port, Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards - A Global Commentary on the New York Convention, published by Kluwer in 2010 and regularly publishes articles on arbitration.
